First I’d like to introduce myself, I’m David Tabizel, I’m in my early forties, married with 2 children & have a Golden Retriever called Monty. I’ve been obsessed with the idea of Videojug ever since I had a flat tyre and looked on the Internet for a film to help me, but to no avail…
So, welcome to our project. For the many of you, already in the hundreds that have helped build the site so far, thank you!
It has taken many months and the dedication of teams of developers, researchers, film makers, producers, experts and all kinds of other professionals to make it this far, to our beta test. Thanks again for your incredible efforts. Thanks also to those supportive investors who have helped us start on the first rungs of our dream.
And thanks to the many, many thousands of you that have visited the site in our first 2 weeks.
For me, Videojug used to have another name: “The Wisdom Project”
So many aspects of modern life are currently not taught at school or university. Some things are just badly taught. Why shouldn't we all have access to the best teachers?
That's our mission at Videojug.com. To build a collaborative, evolving video handbook of life.
To make and offer tens of thousands of videos offering the best experience and know-how available to everyone, everywhere.
Because people learn better when shown how.
We want to get as many people as possible involved in contributing their wisdom as possible. Why? Because thousands of brains and thousands of experiences combined are better than one.
The interesting thing is that most – if not all human experiences have been experienced by others – perhaps by billions of people in the past.
The wisdom of the older generations is often discarded, and so is lost forever when they die. This is such a waste. There are numerous historical, practical and personal life events that repeat themselves, generation after generation. Sadly, it is a strange fact that today, in a multi-media world, that so much experience and understanding is unavailable on a universal basis.
The benefits and overviews of genuinely wise people who could interpret their experiences to the benefits of others are often either overlooked, or simply not available. So much knowledge goes missing over time, while valuable expertise is often just not shared for commercial reasons.
Finally now, with the birth of a high speed, 2-way video enabled Internet, together with low cost video production, there is now the ability to collect and distribute this wisdom in an effective and affordable manner.
We are all familiar with business self improvement books that try to help readers – as indeed seems to be the case with many personal issues such as weight loss, exercise and child care.
Often these books have about 3 or 4 key points which are then drilled to death in the book making a long and boring and time consuming product, when really 2 or 3 pages are all that is needed.
These little “nuggets” of wisdom are often highly valuable, but would be far more powerful if distilled right down to their core points and then delivered in videos, along with thousands of other opinions and interviews.
Our task at Videojug is to collect and succinctly film world-class experience and know-how. By making and sharing tens of thousands of films we can eventually produce a living, breathing, collaborative video encyclopaedia to surviving and prospering in the face of the common challenges found in modern life. An ever evolving searchable source on how to live well and achieve success, wealth, health and happiness.
At Videojug, we believe that all individuals probably have something at which they excel, and also perhaps a few valuable life lessons that they could express on a service such as ours. It could be a few tips about parenting or relationships or simply a great recipe for chocolate cake. Quite possibly it could be an interview with a family member with great thoughts to impart, or else a complete 1 hour lecture about starting a business. It could even be a short documentary on a new way to conduct dog training.
To me, there can be great and valuable wisdom in something as simple as an unusual cleaning tip.
So come on, get involved! Let’s build a unique, meaningful 21st Century TV channel.
Watch some videos. Make some comments on our films. Tell us what titles you want us to make.
Tell us if there is someone fantastic you want us to film (it could be you!).
Better still, get a camera and film something. Send it in to us. You never know what could happen …

David Tabizel
