There are two ways of connecting an audio system to a television depending upon the model of the television. An older television usually doesn't have separate audio and video jack outputs, therefore both the video and audio signals are transferred through a single jack called an RF jack.

Before beginning with any connection, make sure that no AC power is supplied to any of the systems that you are dealing with. If this is so, switch off the power supply. Another good point is to read each of the systems' manuals carefully before proceeding.
Step 1: Connect The RF Cord, The Rear Jack and The Antenna Cable
If this is the case, you will need to buy an additional adapter which has the feature of converting the RF signals into separate audio and video signals. Then, once you have got all the required materials in hand, take the RF cord supplied or attached with the adapter, and connect it to the rear jack of the TV. Now take the antenna cable and insert it in the RF jack of the adapter.
In these days the audio system and television connection cables or RF Adapter are found easily in any electronics shops. However, you should always check your TV output jacks before buying the audio system connection cables.
Step 2: Connect The Audio Cable To The RF Adaptor
Now take the audio signal cable from your audio system and connect it to the audio output jack of the RF adaptor. Be sure to input the same colored signal cable into the same colored jack.
Step 3: Connecting A New TV Model
Connection of an audio system to a newer model of TV is very easy as it doesn't require any additional adapters, cables, etc. In most of these TV's the connection jacks are situated either on the rear panel or front panel but can be easily identified. So, just take the connection cables from the audio system and directly input it to the audio output. Note that the color of cable matches the jack.
In a few televisions you're required to change the settings of the television. This can be done by going through the following process: Visit 'Menu', then 'Sound/Audio', and change 'Output' to on.
Recheck all the connection and pass the current to the audio as well as television system. Turn on the systems and enjoy the sound!
