How to Enjoy Time for Yourself
Somehow we seem to be in a constant state of rushing! We multi-task, trying to accomplish in a day what should, at times, take a week to do. We seem to have lost the art of just enjoying time for yourself. Set aside time, just for yourself. It can be once a week, or once a month, or even one hour. Allow this time to be just a time for you!
Steps
- Take a relaxing bath. Pamper yourself by adding bath salts, or bubbles. Turn on some soft relaxing music, lie back and just let your mind wander. Think of only pleasant things.
- Wait until everyone leaves the house. Get dressed in a nice outfit, and get out of the house. Visit a museum, or go to an art show. Have lunch at a relaxing restaurant, one that you have always wanted to visit. The idea is to just spend time, doing what you have always wanted to do, but never seemed to have the time to do it!
-
Relax by having coffee at an outside table in a local cafe, if you only have an hour to yourself. Just getting away from the usual, if only for a brief hour, can do you the world of good!
- Get yourself a professional massage. This is the perfect way to get all the kinks out, and gives your body a renewal.
- See a movie you always wanted to see. Buy some popcorn, sit back and just watch it without anyone else interfering or asking questions.
Tips
- Just as you take time for meals, make sure you take time to just 'relax' with only pleasant thoughts.
- Leave your problems behind for a little while. They will still be there, but you will be able to handle them better with a relaxed mind.
- Fill your mind with visions of youth.
- Listen to slow relaxing music.
Warnings
- Turn your cell phone off, travel to an area away from your house, and do not tell anyone where you are going. If you do, they are sure to find you. You have your cell phone with you, so if you get a call, just look at who is calling. If it does not seem as if it might be an emergency call, wait until your time of relaxation is over, then call back.
