Step 1: Make Your Base
Glue your pinecone to the base of the metal bottle cap using your craft glue. This step may take a lot of glue to prevent your tree from toppling over. Make sure the glue has dried before you continue.
Step 2: Paint Your Tree
Find an open area (preferably outdoors) to spread your newspaper. You will spray paint your pinecone on top of the newspaper to prevent any mess. Be sure to wear a mask if you are not painting outdoors to prevent inhaling paint fumes.
Step 3: Glitter It Up
Before the paint has dried on your pinecone, sprinkle it with the white glitter. The newspaper will also catch excess glitter. You can add a lot of glitter to simulate snow on your pinecone, or a little, depending on your taste.
Step 4: Glue Your Beads
Use the colored beads to simulate Christmas lights on your pinecone tree. You can either wedge the beads in between the petals of the pinecone, or you can glue them. If you are gluing, you may have to hold the bead in place for a minute or so, until the glue dries.
Step 5: Top Your Tree
Glue your small bow to the top of your pinecone to simulate a tree topper. Also, you may need to hold the bow in place until the glue dries a little.
An easy craft that can be done in one's free time can turn into a small masterpiece which will be the center of attention, and a conversation starter in your home for years to come!
