MAKES 4 LARGE OR 6 SMALL BURGERS

500g lean minced beef or steak

1 tablespoon tomato purée

1 teaspoon paprika

1 level teaspoon salt

Step 1:
Combine all the ingredients in a bowl and mix well with your hands.
Step 2:
Use food rings, if you have them, to form your burgers, then remove the ring and press down with your hand. They will keep their shape if you do this carefully. If you don’t have any rings, just form the mixture into patties with your hands.
Step 3:
Fry or grill them on both sides for 3–4 minutes. Serve in buns with a salad and the tomato relish below.
