Transferring mobile phone photos from your phone to your home computer can be done in a number of different ways. Relocating image files through the use of a micro SD memory card is one simple way to accomplish this task.
Step 1: Checking To See If You Have Appropriate Hardware
Before you can begin this process, you'll have to check your phone and home computer to make sure you are even able to use a micro SD card. Your phone should have a special slot on the side of it, approximately 1/2 inch long that will accept a micro SD card and your home computer should have a slot that accepts SD (not micro) memory cards. If this isn't the case, this won't work for you!
Step 2: Purchasing A Micro SD Card And Adapter
Once you have checked your hardware and confirmed that your phone and computer both have the appropriate slots, you will need to purchase a micro SD card as well as an adapter. You can find these items packaged together more often than not; the micro SD card fits inside the adapter, which is the size of a standard SD memory card. These items can be found for as little as $5 online.
Step 3: Inserting The Micro SD Card And Putting Photos On It
Once you have your micro SD card, all you have to do is simply insert it into your phone. Go to where your photos are kept on your phone. After you select a photo that you want to move to your computer, select the option that says something along the lines of 'move to memory card' or 'copy to memory card'. Select this option for every photo that you would like transferred over to your PC.
Step 4: Inserting The Micro SD Card Into The Adapter
After you are finished copying the photos from your phone to the micro SD card, simply pop the card out of your phone. Next, insert the micro SD card into the adapter. Once you have done this, make sure that the tiny switch on the side of the adapter isn't set to the lock position. If it's set on 'lock' you will not be able to access the files that are located on the micro SD card.
Step 5: Transferring From The Adapter To The Computer
Insert the micro SD adapter into the computer. When prompted, select to view the files in a folder. Now, you should be able to select each photo that you transferred to the card, and cut or copy it from the folder located on the micro SD card over to your computer's hard drive.
And that's it! With a tiny memory card you can move as many files as you want from mobile phone to computer in hardly any time at all. The best part is that you can also do it the other way around, and place files from your computer onto your phone. Once you have a micro SD card and adapter, you have all kinds of options of what media you can transfer between your phone and your home computer.
