Know that if you live in the eastern hemisphere you should look for
a tour that runs out of Tasmania, Australia. Antarctica is about a
3 hour flight and a few tours are located there as well.

Remember that if you live in the western hemisphere look for a tour
from the lower portion of South America.
- Travel by plane, on what will most likely be a long flight to
join in on the tour itelf. Some tours in both Australia and South
America set-up the flight to their specified location.
Tips
- Search for a few different tours so you can find the one that
interests you most, and one that fits in your budget.
- Check with your federal government about how to be a 'good
citizen' in the wild. (There is no local sovereignty over
Antarctica and your behaviour is governed by your federal
government's laws.)
- Reputable tour guides subscribe to the visitor provisions of
the Antarctic Treaty; review them before you go.
Warnings
- Travel to Antarctica can be relatively expensive, and if you
can afford it, it is an amazing tour.
- Weather in Antarctica is extreme. Be prepared for intense sun,
wild wind, ice, and extreme cold.
- Verify with your photo equipment vendor that your photo
equipment can withstand extreme weather.
- Carry out absolutely everything that you carry in. Leave no
trace.
