Punks, preps, goths, and New York intellectuals...they all wear
black. This article will tell you all you need to know about
wearing the color black.
Steps
- Try wearing at least one of the following: earrings, bracelets,
necklaces or belts and scarfs. Metallic jewelry is always the best
to wear as it looks stylish and fits in with every look.
- Wear bright accessories near the face as it can bring up the
full outfit.
- When wearing an LBD (little black dress), match the outfit with
heels and a smart handbag (clutch bag which has some metallic print
on the bag or white prints).
- Now you have a basic wardrobe, now what to do? There are
thousands upon thousands of different styles that emerge from
the colour black....(you choose)
Tips
- Wear bright or natural makeup when wearing black.
- Wear black baggy clothes with sneakers (depending on the
jeans/bottoms).
- Wear tight fitted black tops with killer heels or smart flat
shoes.
- Wear full black skirts like ballerina skirts with netted
pantyhose and heavy industrial black bootes and a t-shirt. This
will give you a kiddy goth/industrial gothic look. Also try wearing
lots of metal bracelates and put your hair in pigtails.
- If you want a sleeck gothic look straighten your hair (if its
black) and run vasiline through it. This will give it a greasy look
but still look sophisticated if your into that.
Warnings
- When applying makeup, don't apply too much black eyeliner as it
can make faces look dull.
- Too much black eyeliner is a trademark of the gothic look so
don't put too little on your eyes, lest you look emo.
- If you're going to wear black head to toe, make sure you add at
least one accessory so the outfit will not look dull.
- If your wearing makeup on face and you have tanned arms just
buy some cream makeup and smear it on your arms and hands then put
loose power over it. So it won't rub off you might (and I know this
sounds weird) spray hairspay over your arms and makeup will stay on
longer and will be less likely to rub off.
