What are the disadvantages of a luxury vehicle?
There are disadvantages to owning a luxury vehicle. First and foremost, when parking the vehicle every day, you're going to be concerned about other people possibly scraping or putting door dings on the car. This is a real concern, especially when you're spending that kind of money to own the luxury vehicle. Secondly, luxury vehicles are probably not as sporty or as engaging to drive, so that factor of insulation, which it could be comfortable at some points, could also make you feel disconnected from the road. You don't get a real sense of driving enjoyment at all times in a luxury vehicle. Lastly, I think luxury vehicles by nature are going to be powered by larger engines than their mid-size or small compatriots in the market place. These are vehicles with V-6, V-8, or even V-12 engines, so fuel economy is a definite consideration with luxury vehicles. Another disadvantage of owning a luxury car is that, by nature of it being more expensive, in order to justify that higher price, the manufacturer will often load it with a lot of high tech features, which would appeal to maybe a younger buyer, but the younger buyer can't afford the vehicle. It ends up in the hands of an older buyer, who maybe can't appreciate the Bluetooth technology, the latest sound equipment and the latest comfort equipment, and it becomes a bit bewildering. The value of that is somewhat lost on an older buyer. Of course, the last consideration is that a luxury car is going to be much more expensive. You need to consider the cost of purchasing the vehicle and how that's going to play out over the time of its usage.
