How did you become a model booker?

I started model booking in 1983 when there wasn't much available about the industry. I happened to meet some people that were involved in it and so I gained all my knowledge socially really. In this day and age, with communications being what they are, with documentaries and the internet, it's much easier to find out who agencies are and how to get hold of them. The best thing to do is just write off to HR departments in model agencies expressing your interest in the industry, trying to prove what little knowledge that you have to impress the person reading it and then just bash people's doors down until they give you a chance at model booking.
