DC Comics is one of the oldest and most well known of the publishers. DC or Detective Comics is otherwise known as national periodicals. This is the company that launched Superman, Batman, the Allstar Society, Wonder Woman, so this is the company that basically started it all. It is probably one of the oldest, if not the oldest, comic book publishing company that is still around today.
