With vert skating and skateboard skating and stuff, a lot of it is geared towards going really fast and as high as possible, because the amplitude is what the judges are always looking for in contests. They want to see somebody go full-on, a hundred percent, almost out of control, but then pulling it off. And that's what guys like Rune Glifberg -- you see a guy like that, out skating in the bowl, like when he won the Vans competition, in the Combi-Bowl. He was going as high as humanly possible, and as fast as you can go, and pulling the most technical stuff off. That's the kind of guy who's going to win the contest every time.
