How do I tell a date that I am HIV positive?
There are any number of ways to tell a date that you are HIV positive. If you're online, it's certainly possible to go to websites that specialize in HIV positive people. There's plenty of those out there and when you become part of those, sort of, websites you don't have to go through the drama of disclosing to another person. If you meet someone in the course of life and they're not aware that you are HIV positive, it can become awkward in any number of ways. In my experience over the years, the sooner is probably the better. There is something very awkward that develops after you get to know a person without that kind of disclosure. So, I've seen it only get more and more difficult to tell someone else the longer you wait for that. And the ways to do it can be anything from hinting around, saying that "hey, I have a friend who's HIV positive" and testing out their reaction to that person. Or, in some cases, you can just sit the person down or look them in the eye and say "I'm HIV positive" and lay it on the line. See how that person handles you. Ultimately, how the person behaves is the kind of person that is going to be around you. So, a person who's not going to react well is probably not going to be a person you are going to get with anyway. So it's a good way to weed out the keepers from the rest.
