What is the likelihood of falling to my death?

Michael Largo (Author, "Final Exits") gives expert video advice on: What are the most common causes of death?; What are some common reasons for suicide?; Can I die from a migraine? and more...

Over age 65 falling is one of the most common causes of accidental death in America. Over 45, more people die from complications of falls at that age than at any other time in their life. People fall on common things: throw rugs, stairs. These are all things that contribute to fall deaths over 65 years of age. An interesting statistic is that of all the races that are studied, white men die of falling more than either woman or any other race. Falls are categorized by anything from 30 feet in the air to two feet. And more people die from falling from a step ladder changing a light bulb in an office than they do from a 30 foot extension ladder.
