The diamond's 'fire' is also known as dispersion. Fire is the light as it enters the diamond and reflects back out at the viewer, and how it's broken up in the spectral colors. So the fire is really the make of all the colors of the rainbow that you see coming out of the diamond. We call it fire. Why? Because it's fire, that's exactly what it is.
