I don't like skirts with ruffles because generally it just makes you look wider than you are. It's just too much fabric happening. So if you're going to have a skirt with a ruffle, make sure that it's a thin fabric so that it really lays flat with your silhouette. Otherwise, you may end up looking like a hula hoop.
