What are the do's and don'ts of peasant skirts?

I do love a good skirt, but a peasant skirt? Eek! That's sort of in the category of the overalls. It's something that you want to keep to, like hang in around the house. You don't want it so low on your waist or hip that your underwear are showing. You don't want it dragging on the floor like you were just at a rave. You don't want it to look so Holly Hobby or patchwork that you look like you just stepped out of Woodstock. So if you want a peasant skirt, keep it to just very simple light cotton weight, maybe with a pair of flip flops. Good luck with that one.
