Who are the most influential online film critics or sites?
I think that some of the most famous film reviewers on the Internet, are the most famous bloggers. You would have to start with Ain't It Cool News and Harry Nels. He really was the ultimate geek fan boy. He is such a character. The way he looks him himself. He is kind of hairy and big. He grew up loving movies. The same way Quentin Tarantino loves movies. And he is a really opinionated guy and people court him for screenings. He loves a good super hero blockbuster movie, and if it is good, he will champion it. If it is not, he is not afraid to say it sucks. Also Devon Ferraci at Cinematic Happenings Under Development, has a fun, brash, irreverent style. If he loves a zombie movie and he thinks it is the best picture of the year, he will tell you. And I think Pauline Coward really appreciate these people and the fact that they are not afraid to pull punches. And then there are sites like rotten tomatoes and meta critic that kind of do roundups of all the reviews out there. They kind of gauge the barometer. They will give you a percentage of who likes it and who does not. It gets a bit red juicy tomato if it is good. It gets the green rotten tomato if it sucks. So that is a good way for people to get a quick sense of what is out there, what is good and what is not.
