A Tankini is a two piece bathing suit that covers up more of the stomach and the mid-riff than the bikini does. Think of like a boy beater tank top, that's sort of cut right above the belly bottom with a brief bottom. I don't understand who it looks good on, unless you're Serena Williams or Gabriel Reece- because what it does is, shows off your shoulders. It's really cut for a boy figure, and certainly, it's not flattering to woman who have a bit extra. Certainly a briefs are like granny pants on the beach, and who wants that? Nobody.
