What are the pros and cons of buying flowers at the supermarket?

Holly Vesecky (Owner & Designer, Holly Flora) gives expert video advice on: What are the pros and cons of buying flowers at the supermarket?; How can I tell if a florist is good or not? and more...

The Trader Joes element has added a whole new dynamic to flower arranging. I think if you're just going to have flowers in your house, I would recommend going to get the $1.50 peonies at Trader Joes. It's something I do. It's even cheaper than what I can buy at the flower market as a florist. If you are sending something to somebody special, and it's a beautiful thing you want to send, I would definitely go with the florist. The florist knows what the best flowers are, knows that they're going to live, cuts them in the right way, and does everything. You just don't want to take any chances with deliveries.
