What are some common misconceptions about pickles?

Arnie "Chowhound" Chapman (Competitive Eater) gives expert video advice on: With what food do you compete?; Why did you choose pickles as your competitive food?; What is your pickle eating record? and more...

One of the biggest misconceptions about pickles unfortunately, is that it is a gimic food. Meaning that someone who really is not a strong eater can learn how to eat and beat someone who is greater. I am going to tell you right now for the record, okay, that it is absolutely not the truth, it is non a gimic food it was a very technique gerben food and you should spend a little bit of time to figure it out. But It is a non gimic food, you have to be a damn good eater. The reasons is a lot of time it goes on the pickles the time you put in your mouth, the time it goes in your stomach you have to chew, you have to break it down, when you use the technique or the corn pop technique or you use my technique whatever approach you use you still got to do a lot of stock to that pickle before it gets into your stomach. So I will say this and I will stand by it, okay, you have to be tough as you can be to be a good pickle eater.
