How do you think diagnostic radiology can improve in the next 10 years?
Kenneth W. Chin (M.D., F.A.C.R.) gives expert video advice on: How has diagnostic radiology changed in the past 5-10 years?; What is RSNA and what do they do? and more...
Diagnostic radiology can continue to improve over the next 10 years on the basis of being able to do more things with more safety. We have proceeded to perform CT scanning with less radiation doses. We're now performing some procedures that were previously invasive in order to establish the same dignoses. As an example, MRI scanning with spectroscopy has the hope of being able to allow us to determine whether or not an area that is a mass is due to a tumor versus an infection, whether it's benign versus malignant. It''s hope that these differentiation, that the differentiation between these various entities will become a reality within the next 10 years.
