When is the best time for gays and lesbians to travel to South and Central America?
If you're looking at South and Central America, I'm going to actually divide them up. First of all Buenos Aires is to me one of the premier destinations and I think, the dollar goes so far. If you're going to do that, you want to go during our winter which is their summer - January, February, March. Brazil, because, it's warmer most of the time, you can go to Brazil just about anytime. I would avoid Carnival simply because you're going to pay a lot of money unless you want to make it that once in a lifetime thing. "Yeah, I've always wanted to go to Carnival" - then obviously you have to go when it's Carnival. When it comes to Central America, again as somebody that comes from a colder climate, you probably are better going in January, February, March. It's actually a little cooler so it's better but for example, Costa Rica is a year-round destination. The one thing on any of these places you go to is you do need to do your research. Some of those places have a wet and a dry season. And actually the rainy season may be your best bet because in fact it rains a lot for a couple of hours and then it clears out the humidity. But what I would do is do your research, find out what, really, you're going to do. If you're going to be outside, what's the season like and so then tailor your needs to that.
