What kinds of entertainment will the cruise ship have?
Dan Ilves (Dan Ilves, CTC, MCC) gives expert video advice on: What key items should I pack for a cruise?; What are some tips to save money while on a cruise? and more...
Entertainment on cruise ships varies quite a bit. Traditional entertainment is going to be a Broadway-style show with music, generally a live band, performers, dancers, and choreography. A lot of them will be based on musicals - Broadway musicals - or it will have some kind of theme. A lot of the cruise ships do a good job of that. There are some shows that I've seen on board ships that I would go and pay good money in a theater to see. With their other shows, it was free entertainment and it was included. It was enjoyable. It ranges quite a bit. Beyond the traditional show, and on a seven-day cruise, you might have two or three of those in the course of a week. On the other nights, you might have a soloist - a solo performer. That can range anything from a classical pianist doing a classical music concert, which might occur a couple of times in the course of the cruise. It might be a magician, or a juggler, or a ventriloquist, or it could be an impersonator from Vegas. There's no limit to the range of what you can find.
