Is it a good idea to get a warranty with my smartphone?
TJ McClearin (Business Manager, Infinity Wireless, LLC) gives expert video advice on: Can I print photos and documents directly from my smartphone? and more...
Warrantees typically come with your Smartphone from the manufacturer as well as the carrier but one thing you should look into is getting phone insurance on your Smartphone. That's probably the number one thing that's overlooked when purchasing a Smartphone because most customers don't realize how expensive their Smartphone could be had they not been signing a two year contract. Typically your Smartphone is going to be a hundred and fifty to two hundred dollars more expensive if you go to purchase it without a plan so that's definitely something that can save you a lot of money. The deductible for insurance typically is anywhere between 70 and a hundred and fifty dollars depending on the device. Some carriers also don't offer insurance for their smart phones, such as Singular. If you buy a Blackberry from Singular and you put insurance on it and go to claim it they're not going to give you a new device because it says on the bottom of the page that they don't support any of their PDA devices for insurance.
