How do I know my own skin type?
Josephine Wackett (Skincare specialist - Principal, Steiner Beauty Training) gives expert video advice on: How do I know my own skin type?
Skin type is dependent upon the amount of oil in it. An oily skin has open pores, maybe a few blackheads and especially down the center of the face, and a slightly shiny surface to it. A dry skin has a more taut appearance, may have dry flaky patches, and may feel uncomfortable immediately after its been cleaned or washed. A dehydrated skin, which can be a dry skin lacking in moisture or even an oily skin lacking in moisture, will also feel very tight and the fine lines will be much more evident. The perfect skin is a normal skin, which is rather like a peach - very smooth, no wrinkles and no signs of open pores.
