You're trying to think of what to say to somebody on a card. I've had a million really funny, ridiculous cards. My favorites were always going off: 'Roses are red violets are blue...' - something silly, punny. Puns are fantastic in my opinion. I think sweet is better to go with than ironic or funny. You're sending flowers; I mean, it's old fashioned.
