In most cases, I would say, in 99 percent of the cases of ingrown hair, it is unnecessary, and it definitely comes from poor shaving habits. There's only very few cases where an ingrown is unavoidable in shaving - when the hair is too curly to even come out of the skin, and then it gets stuck.
