What is a 'sole profile'?
A sole profile is the big picture. It's the completion of the man puzzle that you put together through your intuition about his shoes. When you're putting together your mans sole profile, hopefully you have access to his closet because then you get a big picture. A wide angle lens. You can see habits, you can see repeats, you can see consistencies and also inconsistencies. But if you only have one pair of shoes to work with, that's okay too because you can do a wide angle to see about how you feel about his shoes, or zoom in. Sometimes there's a saying, 'god in the details or devil in the details', it depends on the way you feel about it. So if there's one detail that itches like a wool sweater, look deeper because there's something underneath there. Also, when you're building your sole profile there's different aspects of his shoes that can connote different feelings. For instance, the thickness of his sole. Sometimes you get those real angry soles where they're real jagged and almost like stomp, stomp, stomp. That's going to canote something different than, like a moccasin sole, something that's really gentler to the earth or the pavement wherever you are. Also, suede connotes more of a vulnerability than say a Doc Martin, a real hard leather or type of steel toed boot. So different aspects of the shoes are going to connote different feelings to you and you're going to react to that. And all of those aspects put together are the man puzzle, which is your sole profile. It's the big picture.
