What safety factors should I consider when 'powering up' my party?
When powering up your party and providing additional electricity, you can have a licensed electrician work off of the master box, and what that means is that he's pulling additional power off of the main box of the house. This makes for additional power distribution. One of the other things to consider is if you're not going to bring an electrician, don't overload your circuits and never plug two coffee makers into the same plug. That will blow the circuit. A coffee maker takes about 18 amps. Usually your amperage on your boxes are about 20. But once they're done perking it's ok to combine the two, because then they only use about 8 amps per coffee maker, which gives you a little extra room.
