What should I consider when planning the time of my party?

Charlie Scola (Event Planner, Charlie Scola Catering) gives expert video advice on: What should I consider when planning the date of my party?; What should I consider when planning the time of my party?; What factors should I consider when determining the length of my party? and more...

Well, the time to have your party, if it's a business function and it's right after work, well then, you want to know what time everybody is getting off of work. Specific groups get off at different times. People in the entertainment business tend to get off a little later, while people in, say the accounting business, usually clock out at five. So 6 o'clock to six thirty is a great time, as it gives them a little time to travel to the venue. If it's a wedding, you want to consider whether or not budgeting is important as well, because you can have a less expensive party during the day. But for the most part, 7 o'clock is a premium time, on a Saturday, and that's always going to be my recommendation.
