What is a 'home keyboard'?
Jeff Bauer (Keyboard Concepts ) gives expert video advice on: Are keyboards simpler to use than acoustic pianos? and more...
A home keyboard is generally considered a portable version of more substantial keyboard, something that can be moved around the house, it's generally used as a starter instrument for somebody who just wants to learn the notes and get started at the very fundamental levels of piano lessons but generally won't last the student much more than six months until they start to lose the benefits of the technique, finger strength dexterity technique as well as having all eighty-eight notes, where home keyboards usually only have sixty-one or seventy-six keys, having the eighty-eight notes for reference, so home keyboards are absolute beginner keyboards. An analogy that's been used in the piano industry is, "Learning how to play piano on a small portable keyboard or home keyboard is much like learning how to drive by using a remote control car."
