If you want to match your dress to your partner's suit, tie, or undershirt, there's nothing wrong with that, but you want to keep in mind what color you're wearing because if you're opting for some tangerine dress or some lime green color, you don't necessarily want to see your partner in such a bold color because that's so obvious. If you're doing a blush pink and then he's doing a shade of pink, that's fine I guess. But in general you want to avoid the matchy-match because it doesn't usually work out.
