How can I get discounts on my cruise?
The sooner that you book, or the earlier that you book, the better price you will get. What happens is as the particular voyage that you want to travel on books up, the cruise line starts raising that price. Not everybody on the ship necessarily pays the same price - it could be a function of how early you book the cruise. That's not true across the board however, and a lot of people understand that. If we're 30 days before a cruise and half the ship is empty, the cruise line is desperate to fill that up. They want to go out there strategically in the market place and find ways to fill those cabins. Unlike an airline seat - if a seat is empty on an airline, it's no big deal - that plane is going to be flying in the next few hours, and then there is a chance to sell it. Most cruises on average are 7 days, so the cruise lines don't want that cabin to be empty for a whole 7 days. They have the provisions, they have the staff, and all of that is paid for, so they want to fill those cabins, and they are motivated to do that. Periodically, there are sales, and a lot of times they are strategically done in a variety of different means. They are not out there necessarily to the public at large. You can find them periodically on the internet, and you can find them periodically through travel agents.
