Removing personal documents before showings are instrumental. You don't necessarily want to have someone see that your a doctor, or a diploma from a law school. You want to keep everything on the same playing field. As far as documents in a drawer, people do go through drawers. They want to see space. So you do want to keep financial information from everyone and just keep anonymity.
