Does shaving make hair grow thicker?
Josephine Wackett (Skincare specialist - Principal, Steiner Beauty Training) gives expert video advice on: What are the advantages of shaving? and more...
Shaving won't affect the hair growth. It doesn't make it grow any thicker or any faster. Shaving simply makes the hair feel worse because it cuts the end of the hair to a blunt stubble. The hair may appear and feel thicker but in fact, if it's left to grow for a few weeks, when new hairs grow through they'll have fine soft tips to them and the actual hair growth hasn't been changed at all. Shaving doesn't affect it.
