A lot of people think that Shyness is Social Anxiety, and that's not necessarily the case. Basically to have social Anxiety Disorder, or social phobia, you need to have anxiety about it. Whereas some shy people are perfectly comfortable being shy, they might just be introverted or might be more quiet, and that doesn't mean that they have an Anxiety Disorder.
