The factors for stealing third base really come down to how confident you are with getting a good lead. Also, if you feel like the pitcher is a threat to you or the catcher has a great arm, those are reasons maybe to not run. If the pitcher doesn't have a great move to keep you close to the bag or the pitcher doesn't have a very good arm, then those are great reasons to steal third.
