What factors should I consider when leading off first base during a baseball game?
The factors you should consider when leading off first base are predominately how fast of a move does a pitcher have to first base me, and how quickly can he get the ball over to first base. If he's got a very fast move, you're going to need to stay closer to the bag, and obviously if you feel like it takes him a long time to get the ball to first base, you can take a more liberal lead. So your decision really comes down to the threat of the pitcher.
