There are three player variants of rock Paper Scissors, you can play in kind of a round robin style and have everybody play everybody else and see who comes out with the most points. Those are a little harder. Instead of just keeping your eye on one opponent, you have to split your attention between two. It can be done, but to my mind, the purest expression of the sport is one-on-one spiritual combat, and you really only find that when you have a one-on-one game with someone. You can get into their head, keep them out of yours, and focus all your attention on that one person. Time stands still and all of a sudden it's like the two of you are there and then it's like there's no one there.
