When is the best time for families to go on a cruise?

Dan Ilves (Dan Ilves, CTC, MCC) gives expert video advice on: What are popular budget cruise vacations?; What are the benefits of a large cruise ship? and more...

There's no best time for families to go on a cruise. However, a typical question is will there be other children on board if I take a cruise at a certain point of time on this particular itinerary. The easy answer to that is if you're travelling over summer break, if you're travelling over the holiday periods, there are always much more children on board if it's a cruise that caters for the kids. If you're travelling off season, outside of those time windows, when school is in session, it's less likely that you'll have children on board. The reverse is also true for seniors. Lets say, you want to take a cruise and don't want to be on a cruise with lots of children. We would suggest that you avoid the holiday cruises. We would encourage you to look at times when school is in session, because there'll be a less chance that there'll be children on board.
