What is "optional equipment"?

James Bell (Publisher, Auto Reviewer) gives expert video advice on: What is the difference between "options" and "accessories"?; Do I need to subscribe to car navigation systems? and more...

Optional equipment is all the step up, or the higher trim level equipment that can be added to a vehicle. So maybe, an upgraded sound system, or a DVD entertaiment system, or a larger engine, or a more robust transmission, or a trailering or towing package. These are all pieces of optional equipment that can be added on to the base model and provide a higher degree of utility and/or value to the potential owner. If you're interested in identifying what optional equipment is available for the vehicle, this can done on the Monroni sticker, which is going to be on the left-hand side of the vehicle, usually in the passenger side window.
