Does VoIP offer the same bonus features as regular phone service?
Jim Gurol (VP of Operations, Tierzero) gives expert video advice on: Does VoIP offer the same bonus features as regular phone service?; Is voice mail better using VoIP?; How do 'alternate area codes' work in VoIP? and more...
Yes. You can get the same features as your traditional phone system, such as call waiting, call forwarding, caller id, caller id blocking. All of those features are available in a voice over IP system, and then some. You actually have more control and capability than you did using your traditional system. In the past, you had to dial star codes to enable or disable features. In the new voice over IP world, you do have to do the star codes as well, but a lot of times they're giving you also a web interface, or you can actually turn features on using your computer, so you have a lot more power and flexibility.
