When using gel, all you have to do is open the jar and off you go. There's no preparation, there's no melting and there's no heating. It's designed to work with your body heat. What you do is you put a small amount of the gel on your skin and you allow it to melt with you body heat. You travel with it downwards in the direction of the hair growth. Then you apply a thin layer and place your backing strip on. Go over it three times and then you pull it off in the opposite direction of the hair growth.
