What is a wedding cake 'cutting fee'?

A wedding cake cutting fee is a fee charged by the caterer or the event staff to cut and serve the cake. Because your cake is either stacked or tiered, it needs to be taken apart and cut in the back. A venue will usually charge for a cutting fee.
