Hi! I am Nick Hughes, summon astrology teacher. I have been working in this field for the last ten years. Today I am going to be talking about various aspects of astrology.
This is a brief guide to the history of astrology. Now, the astrology we know today of taught science of the zodiac and the main planets, came in many ways, from the Babylonian times, in the third millennium BC and this kind of moved to Greece. Under the Greeks, a lot of the modern descriptions of astrology developed with the houses and the correlation between metals, and crystals and posture of the body associates with the planets and the science.
And in many ways, the astrology really flourished under the Greeks and later back as well to the Romans and Roman empire spread that in many ways across the a lot of western Europe. When the Roman Empire fell, the Christianity came along, much astrology was expressed as inhabited because it contradicted what the priest saw, what the Bible was teaching, and it didn't entirely dissipate in many ways when underground, was confound upon for quite a while. Instead, the astrology went mostly into the Arab speaking world and Middle East.
And there from the early centuries of the first millennial right upon to the kind of middle aged. Most of the really in depth was taking place in the Middle East and due to increased trade and also the crusades, there were much more intermediate of the Arab culture and Western Europe culture and a lot of texts were translated and so, therefore, a lot of astrology came back to Europe via the translations of these Arabic texts. And again it started to flourish more in Western Europe.
Astrology then flourished in the Middle Ages right up into the seventeenth century when science, the birth of Science was taking place and there was increased mood of scepticism wanting empirical evidence fir everything and the astrology toughened as empirical science was a strength in its power. But then in the kind of late nineteenth century, and early twentieth century, there was again a rise in interest historic and court subject. Of course the world particularly inspired by India and a lot of people coming back from India and a lot of mysticism from the eastern world and this Park Resurgent interested in astrology as well and that really carried on through a lot of the twentieth century, early twentieth century and then they picked up the psychological threads from Yung and Fred and that continued a lot into the 50s, 60s and 70s, and the psychological astrology is poorly the more recent introduction into the astrology traditions.
Now there is a great deal of interest in going back through history and incorporating all of the astrological traditions from the Greeks, the middle ages, the hysterical and the psychological and try to integrate all of these aspects of astrology into a more cohesive home and that's a brief guide to the history of astrology. .
