Now, astrology has been used to predict all kinds of things for the last three thousand years, whether that is predicting world events, catechisms, or predicting when you are going to get married, or when to move house or when a big event in a person's life can happen.

Now the time of prediction that an astrologer will give will depend a lot on that astrologer's frame of reference. Some are much more fatalistic and they phrase it in terms this will happen at that time. And others give more of an idea of the possibilities that lie ahead.

And others phrase their predictions in such a way that gives the client a much more sense of free will. Although it may be narrowed in a certain area their still able to make choices about their life and it is not all predetermined. Now, there are many ways and techniques that an astrologer has at his disposal in order to make predictions or forecasts.

One of the most common ways is to use transits. Now, a transit is what happens when, where a planet is right now in the heavens crosses over a point that is very sensitive in a person's natal chart. In other words, that is the chart of the moment they were born.

So for example, if you had a sun at five degrees of Capricorn and Pluto will cross five degrees of Capricorn in a month or so from now, the astrologer would say that in that month, Pluto will cross your sun and that will have a major impact in your life. Now, the impact it will have in your life will depend on the planets involved. So the sun is a lot to do with ones identity, Pluto often transformation.

So when Pluto crosses the sun the astrologer will predict that you may have a big inner transformation on how you see yourself, your identity may undergo a big change. Transits are just one predictions method there are many others such as progressions, solar arc directions and returns, and all of these guide help to guide the astrologer into giving quite accurate predictions as to what will happen in a person's life. .
