Hi. I'm Joel Scott from Cats Protection. I'm here to tell you about all the various aspects of cat care.

I'm here to give you a guide to adopting a cat. Cats are the most popular pet in the UK and a wonderful addition to any household. There are several things to consider when homing a cat.

Will the cat fit into your lifestyle? Will the cat get on with any existing pets? Time is also a big issue. Have you got time to groom the cat? Have you got time to play with the cat? Have you got time to give the cat its general affection and time that the cat needs? There are also other things to consider as well, whether the cat has any medical issues at all. If the cat has medical issues, you may have to consider the financial reasons for taking on the cat, whether the cat, obviously the financial issues with feeding the cat for a start, vaccinations, de-fleaing, de-worming.

There's all sorts of financial things to consider when homing a cat, but they make the most wonderful pets and they are well worth the effort as long as you have the time, finances, and the love for the cat, that's the main thing. If you have taken into consideration all the care that the cat needs and the cat is the perfect pet for you, you will then need to find an organization that is sticking to all the cat care standards and looking after the cats to the best of their ability, cleaning, feeding, veterinary care, everything is covered and this is the next step to take. Once you have found that organization, the next steps will be to decide whether a cat you find is the right pet for you, whether the cat is used to an indoor life, is used to an outdoor life.

Cats, like humans, have many different characteristics that define them, whether they are friendly lap cats, or whether they are feral cats that need an outdoor life. All these will need to be taken into consideration. Where you live is a big consideration.

Whether you live on a busy road, in a rural area, these all need to be taken into consideration when homing a cat from an organization. A feral cat will need a lot of room, a lot of outdoor space to act as a feral cat would. A cat may need an indoor environment because of a disease that it may have, FIV being one of the problems that a cat may face.

It will need an indoor home. Cats, like people, have different personalities. Some cats like an indoor life, some like an outdoor life.

This all need to be taken into consideration in choosing your cat from your chosen organization. You may need to consider if the cat needs a lot of space to roam, they love going outside, you need to choose a cat that likes to go outside, some cats prefer to go indoors, and some cats have to go indoors due to medical reasons, and this will all need to be taken into consideration when choosing your perfect pet. Once you have discussed your needs with the animal welfare organization, you will then be shown a suitable cat that suits all your needs.

They will then, if they do have a socializing room that they can show you the cat, they will then show you the cat and you can get to know the cat a little bit better. The organization should then organize a home visit so they can check that your home is suitable for the cat, and the cat is suitable for you. These are all important introductory sort of meetings with the cat and with the organization to make sure this is the right cat for you.
