A Guide To Esoteric Astrology

Hi, I am Nick Hughes. I am an astrologer and teacher. I have been working in this field for the last ten years.

Today, I am going to be talking about various aspects of astrology. This is a guide to esoteric astrology. Now, the word esoteric essentially means inner, as opposed to exoteric, which is more outer.

When esoteric is used in conjuncture with astrology, it often refers to something specific. In particular, the development of theosophy and a lot of the other spiritual teachings coming out of the late nineteenth century and early twentieth century. Now, these involve various teachers particularly Alice Bailey, Helena Blavatsky, Rudolf Steiner, Max Heindel and Grace Cooke.

Grace Cooke was involved in the White Eagle School of astrology. Now, one of the things that all of them have in common is that they were either inspired by or felt they were directly channelling a higher source. Alice Bailey, for example was said to be channelling a Tibetan master who gave a lot of these esoteric teachings on astrology to the masses.

Now, much of this esoteric astrology as laid down by these teachers in the early twentieth century can be a little bit vague or little bit undecipherable in places. You use with a lot of code language sometimes. Now, that has prompted has been a lot of authors who write interpretations or guides to this particularly in the seventies and eighties as well as now and that is their kind of trying to put it into simple layman's terms some of quite complex spiritual principles and the other thing if anyone is wanting to investigate esoteric astrology more is that you really need a great deal of background in the teachings of that author to really understand astrology in that context.

So you would have to study much more broadly around the subject to understand the terms that the different authors use, but it can contact some very deep and spiritual insides into life by studying this particular branch of astrology. .
