A Guide To Felt Tip Pen Stain Removal

Accidents are inevitable when young children do their colouring near soft furnishings or whilst laying on the carpet. This video provides a guide to felt tip stain removal.

We all have children who lay on the carpet and do their colouring, and if they get their felt tip pens on the carpet, there is a really easy way to remove those pen stains. All you need is your hairspray. So, what you do is you spray the hairspray on the pen mark, and then dab with a paper towel.

Never rub, because you ruin the pile, so you do need to dab, but you can see the pen is transferring already to the paper towel. What you keep on doing, is you keep on repeating that process. That's coming off, so you spray it again, repeat the process.

This will work on fabric as well, so if they've drawn on the sofa, it will work on sofas, too. As you see, the pen is still transferring to the tissue. You keep repeating that until all the pen stain has gone.

That's still transferring, but it's getting less and less as the hairspray does its magic. It's always good to keep cheap cans of hairspray in the cupboard for just such instances, rather than use your expensive one. We're almost done.

As you can see, there's very little pen now transferring from the carpet to the tissue, and that's because we've got it nearly all out. And there we are - how to remove pen marks from your carpet. .
